Today's Featured Biography

Robin Stein Schluckebier

Life has definitely been a roller coaster. You never know what is in store for you around each corner. High School is so different now at least from when we were in school. We didn’t have to worry about someone coming to school with a gun, as my children have experienced. After surviving the Thurston shooting my kids have all graduated from Thurston High School. I am so glad we were late that day. I am so glad that Jesus has his hand on our lives. All three of my children have great careers and have become great people and I am so very proud of them. My children have been my greatest accomplishment.

My oldest son and his wife have given us a beautiful grandson. He is three and my buddy. They live in Idaho, so I don’t get to see them as much as I would like.

After my first marriage, I thought life was over. Then I met my husband and he taught me that life wasn’t over and he became a wonderful father to my children. He adopted my children and has been there for each of them every step of the way. We now share our grandson; well I try to share him.

I enjoy preparing tax returns and I enjoy selling houses. I am happy that I have had the opportunity to pursue different careers that have allowed me the time to spend with my family. We still do a lot of family gatherings even though the kids all have their own lives. We just got back from Hawaii in May, the whole family went and we had a wonderful time.

We just found out that my husband has cancer and he has been receiving treatment the past month. They first thought it was worse than they now believe. We are thankful that it is curable and we can continue to share in the lives of our children and grandson "Wyatt".

Even though this life has been difficult, I wouldn’t want to change a thing!
