Today's Featured Biography
Deanna Larson Hash
Living in Hyderabad up until March 2012, India since 1986, my kids are both in college in US. My husband is a plant geneticist working for the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics. I have worked off and on as a scientific copy editor, currently not working. Have a lot of animals, 4 dogs, 3 cats, some reptiles, lovebirds, budgies and zebra finches. And I keep two mares with a friend who lives close by. With my two mares I do "city riding", mostly on pavement, as we live in the city. I am also a very active member of the Hyderabad Hash House Harriers. I come to Tacoma about once a year, but have never been there during a reunion time. Maybe next summer (2010)!
Now living inNiamey, Niger, West Africa since March 2012. We do not know for how long we will be in Niamey. But we hope it will be for some years. In Niamey I am not working, but I have taken some French courses. I belong to the Club Equestre de Niamey, where I have two horses. I am also taking art lessons and learning to work with soft pastels. I also have two of my dogs with me in Niamey, who accompanied me from India. Nunu is a small Indian spitz male, 6 years old; and Tina is a 4-year old standard poodle. Both of the dogs I normally clip fully in March and continue clipping periodically until the end of the hot weather (cool weather is from mid-November to mid-March). I visit India every year, but I have only gone back to the US once since shifting to Niger.
