Today's Featured Biography
Michael Screnock
Karen and I met at UW-Madison and were married in 1990. God blessed us with three amazing sons and now one daughter-in-law. Many of our family activities over the years revolved around our kids' interests - church, scouts, music, drama, and sports. Now the kids are all out of the house and we are redirecting our lives and hobbies for this next phase of life.
In 2004, after a 12-year career in local government, I decided to go back to law school. We moved back to south central Wisconsin from Lake Superior (Bayfield County) and I worked for eight years for a large law firm in Madison working on complex cases in various areas of the law.
In 2015 I was appointed by the governor to serve as a circuit court judge for Sauk County, and I have been privileged to hold that position for the past two years. I have particularly enjoyed the opportunity to preside over our newly-formed Drug Court, which takes a treatment-based approach to providing individuals with the tools they need to break the cycle of addiction and criminal behavior to support those addictions.
