Today's Featured Biography
Bill Evans
My dad was Air Force, stationed at Truax in Madison. We moved to California from Sun Prairie after I had completed 9th grade.. so I didn't graduate with you all. But after we had departed, I realized that I had left behind not only many good memories, but many good friends. I was an Army helicopter pilot, and a contributing author for the Army Cavalry Journal, during my Army career. Moved to Sierra Vista Arizona from Washington state after retiring from the military, and operated a horse-drawn stagecoach tour business in Tombstone (the REAL Tombstone) for a couple of years, then went to work for the City of Sierra Vista, in the Purchasing Dept. I'm the Special Projects Officer, and am concurrently the Purchasing Card Program Administrator. Will be eligible for retirement from the City in 2 1/2 years.. unless gasoline prices continue their upward spiral... in which case I'll just work until I'm 95 or maybe 100. .. or maybe not! Was married for 22 years. Divorced in 2000 and am enjoying a great relationship with my girlfriend in Tucson. My two boys are attending college; the oldest 'slowly' majoring in Graphic Arts design, and my youngest just... going and having a good time learning!? The photo is from May 2007, when David (my youngest) graduated from High School. To his left is my oldest son, Bill Jr. For fun I'm restoring vintage motorcycles and cars: buy them, restore them, then fall in love with them and cant find it in my heart to sell 'em ...! I'm the tour guide for a group of historians & western history authors who meet here annually for the Tombstone Territory Rendezvous. Life has been fun...and I'm looking forward to seeing my Sun Prairie friends in July! My best to everyone. See you soon.
