Today's Featured Biography
Cheryl Anderson Vegter
John & I have been married for 51 years. We have three children and fifteen grandchildren. We still live in Janesville, WI near our daughter, DeAnna, and family. Her husband, Aaron Henkel, owns the Family Clinic of Natural Medicine in Deerfield, and they have seven children. The three oldest are out of the house or in college, but DeAnna still homeschools the four youngest. I try to help her as much as possible. Our son, Kyle, is a pastor in Jackson, MI. He is married to Heidi, who homeschools their six children. Our youngest, Torrey, is a computer programmer in Austin, Texas. He and his wife, Hailey, have two children. Hailey is a former special education teacher and now works for a company that designs curriculum and teaching aids for special needs children. I am still busy teaching piano lessons and John continues to work in audio/video consultation.
Our lives were changed dramatically last June when my husband suffered a stroke the day before our 50th wedding anniversary. Of course, we had to change our plans, but I was just very thankful to still have my husband. John was in Van Matre Rehab hospital for several weeks and then had outpatient therapy from mid-July through February of this year. It has been slow, but we thank God for every bit of progress he has made.
I have enjoyed reading the updates of our classmates, but I was sad to see that so many are no longer with us. Life is just so brief; every day is a gift!
We hope to make it to the 55th class reunion.
