Today's Featured Biography
John Schmidt
I moved from Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1972 to begin a career with Levi Strauss Inc. in South Dakota and stayed there until 1975 with my partner, Lori, and then I accepted a transfer and promotion to Omaha, Nebraska, and lived there for a few years. After, I left Levis to do my own personal sabbatical in 1976-1977 and traveled through Mexico for a while and went skiing in Colorado also and then moved to Minneapolis for a new career with a company named Faded Glory which sold the first pre-washed jeans back then and stayed with them for one year and moved back to Omaha for yet a new career in real estate. That only lasted for a few years after which I moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1980 to sell and market running shoes. That was hugely unsuccessful and then I became Director of The Carriage House, a Youth Drop-in Center. Shortly after, I interviewed and accepted a job as a distributor sales rep for a natural products distributor, Akin, and moved to Kansas City, Mo., and 3 months later to Houston, Texas. I met my first long-term love in Austin, Texas, Janet, and we moved together to Asheville, North Carolina where I accepted a position as vice-president of sales for an importer of Macrobiotic foods from Japan, Great Eastern Sun. I lived in Asheville for 3 years and then moved to Austin, Texas with Janet and started my own company Sunbelt Organics, Inc., a natural and organic products brokerage My partner, Janet, and I departed ways after 7 wonderful years and we transmuted our partnership into a deep friendship which lasts until today 40 years later. In Austin, I enjoyed great success and abundance with my company, Sunbelt Organics for 12 years before selling my company to a friend in 2000 so I could begin traveling around the world. First, I traveled throughout the US performing with a group called The Living Tarot in 2001 where we would give live Tarot readings in costume and dance in various yoga studios across the country from Austin to Seattle. Wa. and including Burning Man and Rainbow Gatherings. After returning to Austin I planned a world trip and left for Amsterdam in 2002 in June traveling through Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Holland, and other countries and ended up 4 months later in Chiang Mai, Thailand to visit a good friend and check out the city. I made the choice to live in Chiang Mai and went back to Austin to sell my house and possessions and then began another trip in Europe beginning in Amsterdam again and traveling around the area and returned to Chiang Mai later to find a home. I had my first house built from about 2/3 of an acre of land abutting the national forest and I have been living in my new home here for 12 years now and in Chiang Mai for 18 years and loving the city, the international conscious community, and the sweet-natured country of Thailand. Recently I accepted a position as a consultant for a natural food company in Singapore and invested one year with them and now am taking a break looking for my next imagination...most likely assisting in some way, organic food and products marketing in SE Asia. Now to update you, I still live in Chiang Mai and my major focus is teaching Conscious Language, a way to upgrade your words to align with your Heart, and also having gatherings at my house for old and new friends almost monthly. I am currently in very good health and my partner is Me!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
