Today's Featured Biography
Daniel Johnson
In Stonewall, I was active in Student Council, serving as president in my senior year. In addition, I worked on Jackson Journal and emceed the Jackson Jollities. Stonewall was great! After Stonewall, I received A.B. from Columbia College in 1961. Stayed at Columbia and received Masters in 1962 and Doctorate in Psychology in 1966. Dated Nancy Wells, SJHS '57 classmate, from 1955 and married in 1958. Moved to Blacksburg, VA as mild-mannered psychology professor, having helped to start the department, and stayed until 1981. With boys off to college, began a consulting career with firms including Deloitte that ended with my own firm, Quality Performance Corporation, when I joined First Union in 1995. I had several roles there but had the most fun as a banking operations analyst in the last 6 years from which I retired in 2008. I am most proud of playing second banana to Nancy in Charlotte. She was famous as an interior designer in Charlotte and in "Southern Living." Nancy, the love of my life for 56 years, passed away in 2012. Later, I met, surprisingly fell head-over-heels in love, and on July 31,2014, married Sandra (Sandy) Kay Shuler barefoot on the beach in Myrtle Beach, SC. We now live a new life in our new home in Cornelius, NC.
