Keith Strachan

Ten years is a long time but the days went by so fast.

After Graduating I worked at a local computer in Nassau for a year and then left to further my education In Tampa, Florida. I obtained an associate’s degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering, and a Bachelors Degree in Operations Management from Tampa Tech. I also attended International Academy of Design and Technology (Tampa, Fl) in pursuit of another associate degree in Computer Networking. I'm currently the I.T. supervisor at Our Lucaya Resort in Freeport Grand, Bahama.
The seven years I spent in Tampa was a true learning and life altering experience as the amount of exposure to different aspects of life were overwhelming. I had e the opportunity of working with companies such as America Online, Busch Gardens and Sykes (General Electric Tech support). It was early in the year 2004 that I decided to return to Nassau and after doing the job hunt thing, apparently after all these year it’s still about who you know to actually get a sensible job in this place.
I would advise any high school graduate to try getting a job at home for a year and really think about what it is they would like to do before going off to school. It is shocking to see how many college student after spending a whole heap of money, decide to either change majors or drop out because half way through the realize what they are studding is not for them. And to those that might not have been among the top graduates in high school, I want to say not to give up because there is always a door to success open somewhere.

I do hope to be at the reunion I guess we can all chill and talk bout the good old days when they put monkey tamrine on Miss. Branch chair foe April fools day.
