Today's Featured Biography
Michelle Gherardini
About a year after graduation, I quit my job and my roomie and I decided to see what it would be like not to shovel snow in the winter and chose San Diego as our new destination. That trip took us about 6 months to make by the time we ran out of money, but not out of fun!
California lasted a couple years before we had the offer to help run a Jeep rental biz on Kauai. I went back to SD for another year after being on the island for as long, and decided to begin my travels. I whirlwinded through London and the Bahamas, finally coming back to Alaska. It was the last place I made any real money, and I was tired of things you could make with water.
Since arriving in AK for the second time in 1990, I've spent ~10 years working for BP in Anchorage, and continue with them working now on the North Slope where I can really take advantage of my time off!
Some of my travels have taken me to England, Australia, the Cook Islands, the Bahamas, Guatemala, Belize, all over Mexico, Italy, Greece, and South Africa. I took a cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, followed by a trip up the coast from Florida to Virginia. My most recent cruise has been an Eastern Mediterranean taking me to Greece, Italy, and Croatia. I often break in San Diego for football games and visiting family, and Seattle for shopping, concerts, etc.
When I actually spend time at home I love to cook, paint, decorate, garden, fish and go 4-wheelin'. I have my own home business doing computer graphics, web design, and database programming.
As for the future, there's nothing I'm anxious to change. I'm guessing the future is going to be more of the same...living, loving, life!
