Today's Featured Biography
Brenda Coleman Bollet
It seems like all Heritage history fell to pieces when the school downsized and ultimately moved to a "temporary" location in Buena Park. I'm so glad to see this site! As clumsy as I am in general, can't imagine how I didn't stumble upon it sooner.
From graduation day, I passed on my scholarships and went to work, eventually perfecting the art of overwork in the Accounting field. Got married, divorced, scary dating, relocated to Topanga Canyon, then finally to my home here in Grants Pass, Oregon in 1988. The first couple years, I enjoyed feeling as if I was keeping pace, worked for a CPA firm, and picked up my degree work again. But, then along came my Randy, and the CPA firm required me to make a choice between 18-hour days and my family. Motherhood made it an easy choice and I was gratefully and blissfully an over-achiever sports/scout/classroom mom until my youngest was out of elementary school. About 15% of the kids that have circulated through my little world are afraid of me, the rest call me Momma. I feel like Ruth Audit, who was always my hero. LOVED being with my girls in all the ways I missed out on with my own mom. They are tolerant and mostly amused by their mom. Started back to work slowly out of my home - accounting (like so many of my peers!!) for small businesses, volunteer organizations and non-profits, computer and bookkeeping tutoring... Someone talked me into taking on elderly and developmentally incapacitated clients as conservator for their financial affairs. I LOVED every last one of them, which made it just horrible to lose them, one by one. So stopped accepting any new conservatorships. Finally working more on-site than out of my home. Still keep myself available to Randy and the girls. My folks and sister followed me up here a few years back, then an aunt, and a cousin, Don Swan (class of 75 maybe). He calls is Mayberry, but it's not really THAT small. Just because we don't have a mall... It is absolute paradise here, no natural disasters to dodge. Do miss the ocean occasionally, but the trade-off is more than worth it. My husband misses SoCal, but then he was always much more comfortable in the fast lane than I was. Check him out at www.hotgossipband.com - not exactly G-rated, but what a clown! Love that about him. Always lots of love, laughter and affection in our house. Broke more often than not, but abundant in all that's important. The boat is nice, too. We give it a workout - no choice but to camp when the boating crowds gather!! I am so blessed to have an ever-growing collection of friends - all goodhearted and generous and tolerant of my ditzy ways.
My oldest daughter, Jamie, has just given me a beautiful grandson. I would never have believed my heart could expand to such a gargantuan degree. And Pappy is just a nut case over those little sweet cheeks. OMG! Whooda thought I could be caught so offguard with my years and experience! Jamie had the academic ability, but no willingness to participate in her own future. We'll see what motherhood teaches her. My younger daughters, Kami and Molly, are struggling their way through school. Both have beautiful hearts and attract a wide variety of friends. Their strengths are still forming and I'm excited to see just which twists and turns their live's paths will take them. What a ride!!
Was caught completely off guard when Randy reunited with his son after 30 years without contact. And, lo and behold, TWO more granddaughters to love. They live SO FAR AWAY - will have to get that figured out. Hard to spoil 'em long distance, although I'm sure I can find a way.
Pretty impressive, some of the profiles I enjoyed perusing. Did not see one photo in which I didn't see the face I remember. Extra fun were the photos of the children who look just like them!!
Whoever comes along to see this, thank you for remembering. Or better yet, thank you for never forgetting where you came from and who was there with you in the beginning!! I hope you are as blessed as I am in my life.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
