I got married shortly after HS. We had two children: a boy, Noel, and a girl, Stephanie. Stephanie died at about 7 months age. We got divorced and I remained single for many years.
I started working summers in Alaska crewing on a fishing boat.
I moved to Arizona to be near my son. I went back to school during the winter - Alaska during the summer, and a varied assortment of jobs enabled me to put myself through school.
I got an AA degree from Phoenix College and a BS from Grand Canyon University. I then taught elementary school in Phoenix for 10 years. I got my Master's from Northern Arizona University during summers while I was still at Phoenix Elementary.
While attending NAU graduate school, I met my wife to be, Julie. We finally got married in 1992 and both taught school in the Grand Canyon National Park.
Julie died in 2002 following complications from her Type I diabetes which she had since age four.
I continued teaching for a few years, then took early retirement. I now live near Williams, AZ, about 50 miles from The Canyon. This is a very beautiful region especially for the outdoor/nature lover, but there is something here for everybody.
