Delanie Harper Johnsen
I left Twin Falls and moveD to Provo, Utah, one day after I graduated mid-year of our senior year. I attended BYU my freshman year before moving to Boise, Idaho. There, I met and married the father of my two biological children, born 05/1977 and 10/1978. We later divorced; however, my children are the blessings from that marriage and remain my proudest accomplishment.
In 1993, I married my current husband, who has two children. When we married, we had 14, 15, 16, and 17 year old teenagers, three cats, two dogs, and a rat (who luckily died shortly after our wedding). If we could survive those early married years, we can survive anything!
After I had lived in Boise for 22 years, my husband and I moved to Seattle, Washington. We loved Seattle but after 10 years, my husband was offered a career opportunity that required us to move to Atlanta, Georgia. We have been living in the Atlanta metro area since April of 2005.
We are the proud grandparents of fifteen grandchildren. Eight of them belong to our oldest son (Darrington, WA), two from our only daughter (Boise, ID), and five from our youngest son (Savannah, GA). Our second to oldest lives in Seattle and has no children.
I am now happily retired (since 2017) and have enjoyed traveling post retirement. I usually travel back to Idaho in the late spring/early summer each year to visit my daughter and her family. It has been fun reuniting with several of our classmates each year during my visit!
In July of 2024, I will be traveling back to Idaho for our 50th reunion. How is that possible?
