Graduated 1970 from NIU, B of Music in Vocal Performance. Married the love of my life, George Beasley (AHS '58). It took 3 babies, a mortgage and a dog before I finished college!!! Briefly taught as substitute vocal music teacher. Moved to state government, legislative aide to a State Rep., then in 1990 I ran as IL State Senate candidate in a targeted race, following that, I spent 10 years on IL State Police Merit Board. Had side vocations as real estate broker, and then insurance producer with husband, George's, State Farm Insurance office. Recently published book "The Underground Railroad in DeKalb County, Illinois" (McFarland is publisher) Currently "retired", but very active in volunteer community civic activities i.e. Divine Savior Hospital Bd. of Dir., PEO. Some things never change. Moved to WI after retirement to site of childhood summer cottage. Love lake living -- and so do the grandchildren! Summer means company every weekend! Life is exceedingly good!
