After graduation I joined the Army. Spent 26 months in Germany (34th Signal). Was there during the Berlin and Cuban crises. After discharge I returned to my home town of
Canonsburg Pennsylvania. I worked at the Pennsylvania Transformer co for six years. I got married and had two children. Got tired of factory work so joined the PA State Police. A few years later my wife passed away. I remarried and 6 years later got divorced. A few years later I met my current wife (Lori) at the station that I was stationed. Her mother was a dispatcher there. She was recently divorced and had two small girls. Her mother told her that I was to old for her I was 43 and she was 23. It didn't matter to her. After talking for about 6 months she finally asked me if I was ever going to ask her out. We have been together ever since.I retired in January 1992 at age of 50 with 25 years service. Worked as a P.I. for a few years then retired for good. Lori is still working for Graingers. She is a market sales coordinator for western PA.
Between us we have 10 grandchildren.We enjoy camping, fishing and traveling. I enjoy hunting a lot. She always does better when we fish so I haven't taught her to hunt. While visiting Berlin last year our guide on one of the tours told us that he had been there when the Berlin wall was taken down. I told him that I was there when it started going up. They had given us 50 rounds of ammo and were told that if war started that we could expect to live for 15 to 30 min. because we were so outnumbered Sure glad that cool heads prevailed.
