Jameelah Brown

I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I want to start off by saying, In September 2008, I'm hoping to have my first book published, so please show your support.

After graduating from high school, I attended Penn Valley Community College on a basketball scholarship. I graduated from there in May 2001 with my A.A. in Communications and went to Langston University where I received my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism in May 2004. I was the Vice President of NABJ (National Association for Black Journalist). I also presided as the Activities Coordinator for the Pre-Alumni Council. At Langston, I was also apart of the Lady Lions Women's Basketball team. Langston is where I spent my time learning and building my skills to become better in my career. From Langston University, I attended The University of North Texas in Denton, TX in August 2005 and received my M.A. in Public Relations in August 2007. I then moved back to Kansas City in November 2007 and am now an Executive Coordinator for a non-profit urban development organization. I assist with the Marketing and Public Relations efforts of the organization. Now that I am back at home, I do alot of community service work, as I did while living in Dallas, with Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, etc. I am also apart of the NAACP,LUNAA (Langston University National Alumni Association) and am currently in the process of becoming a member of UMMA (United Minority Media Association). I spend most of my time volunteering and working with children and teens to build self-esteem, work ethic, etc. ALWAYS KEEP GOD FIRST!!
