Today's Featured Biography
Mark Hoffman
I was fortunate to marry the lovely Ruth Klingsporn (RSHS 86) in 1991 and we are now the proud parents of two daughters, Jordan and Sophia. We are active members of our church in Lee's Summit and thoroughly enjoy our family life together.
Bio - After graduating from high school, I went to William Jewell and graduated in 1991 with a degree in Molecular Biology. Ruth and I were married that summer and then moved to Madison, WI where I worked on my Ph.D. in Bacteriology and she worked in PR. After I completed graduate school in '96, we moved to Ames, Iowa where I did research at the National Animal Disease Center. Cerner offered us the opportunity to return to the KC area in 97 shortly before Jordan was born. Our second daughter, Sophia, was born in 2002. At Cerner I lead a project to develop software used in clinical molecular diagnostics laboratories and have the title "Director of Genomics Strategy" (I'm still trying to figure out exactly what that means..). Thanks to Byron for organizing this web site, it is really nice to see how people are doing. Ruth is much better at staying in touch than I have been and so this is a nice way to feel caught up.
