Today's Featured Biography
Lynn Schwanger Ketchmark
2002 - After high school, I went to BGSU and graduated in 1966 with a degree in elementary education. I was hired for my first job by Harvey Davis, our former Whitmer principal. For the next 7 years, I taught first grade at Trilby Elementary. In 1974 we were transferred to San Jose, Ca. where we lived for a year. Then it was back to Toledo for 4 years. In 1979 to 1981, we lived in Reading, Pa. I loved it there except for a few problems, like a divorce!
The girls and I came back to Toledo and I'm still here. I bought a house in Washington Local, so that my daughters could go to Whitmer. I got a job teaching first grade in Sylvania in 1985 and I am still there. I will retire with 30 years in two more years. Hooray! I spend a lot of time at our family cottage at Devils Lake in Michigan, and have many fond memories of boat rides with Jack Hammon way back a long long time ago, when his family had a cottage there too. My daughter Kelley lived in Switzerland after graduating from Ohio State, so Andrea and I had the opportunity to visit Europe a few years ago, which was very exciting. Now Kelly lives in California and Andrea lives in Colorado which gives me great places to visit - as often as I can
2012 – Married to husband Jim in 1970 and divorced in 1981. Have been looking for a rich handsome husband ever since, but no luck yet. Had daugters – Kelley in 1973, I got the idea to name her Kelley because I had a darling little girl in my class by that name, who just happened to be the daughter of Luann White. Andrea in 1976. Kelly is married to husband Conrad and lives in California. Andrea lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan. No grandchildren yet, but I’m still hoping. We lived in California for a year – 1974-1975, and in Pennsylvania – 1979 – 1981. The rest of the 50 years have been spent in good old Toledo. Had two great trips to Europe planned by daughter Kelley. Otherwise most of my travel is to visit my daughters and Christmas in Colorado with my sister Nancy and family. I taught first grade at Whiteford Elementary in Sylvania from 1985 until I retired in 2004. I spend a lot of time in the summer at Devils Lake with my 91 year of Mother and family and friends. I love to eat out with friends, garden, walk my dog, read, and dance. Lately I have been taking ballroom dancing lessons. Otherwise I am pretty lazy most of the time and really enjoying retirement.”
So now I'm retired (since 2004) from teaching first grade for Washington Local and Sylvania Schools.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
