Today's Featured Biography
Shirley Riebe Henry
1987 -Medical Records Technician at St Charles hospital. Grandchildren Taran 3, Sara 2. Hobbies: Ceramics, porcelain doll making, gardening, walking, activities with children, reading, active in Lutheran Church.
2007 - as of 9/2005. Grandchildren 17, Great Grandchildren 2. "I raised six children, took college classes and received an Associates Degree in Health Technology. I have been cancer free for 16 years. I had esophageal cancer and I was given a new life by the surgeon who performed a very new surgery on me. It was a hard struggle, I persevered. I worked 25 years at St Charles Mercy Hospital in Medical Records Unit Secretary and also team Lead. Second Shift in admitting. I have been on several cruises which I really enjoyed and drove to Florida then traveled the whole ocean side and then traveled the gulf side which I really enjoyed. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren. I love to travel, read constantly, mostly Victorian era fiction & non fiction. I script dolls form Porcelain for the granddaughters and make the clothes for the dolls. I also crochet. I enjoy walking, going to movies, and also spending time with my "2 Kids", JR & Penny my little Yorkies. All in all the last 45 years have been kind to me.
2012 – “I am retired from St Charles Mercy Hospital where I worked 27 ½ years. – Also since retirement I’ve worked various positions in medical records and data entry. I have 6 wonderful children and blessed with 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I like to volunteer at Darlington House, helping children learn to read and also mentoring college girls in the nursing program. Been on several cruises which I thoroughly enjoyed and visit California for a length of time about every 3 years. I enjoy reading, crocheting, making jewelry and spending time with my extended family. I have been divorced since 1993. I have developed many interests in Judaism, the Mayans, Incas, as well as our ancestry traced back to Sweden. Despite several serious illnesses, life has been very rewarding time.”
