Since Graduation:
I have lived in 33 different residential locations in 6 states and 1 foreign country. Amazingly, I accomplished this without ever joining the military or serving time in a federal prison. I have become an expert in: filling out USPS change of address forms, various state DMV procedures, starting new electric, water, and internet service, and without question I know how to pack a box.
In the early 90's, while working on my bachelor's degree at Arizona State University I found a few things that to this day I still love: sociology, punk rock, bicycling, water polo, and golf. As these love affairs grew, I supported myself as a waiter/bartender in various Scottsdale, AZ eateries.
Finally, in 1997 after a summer of living out of a 1969 VW Bus and traveling north and south on PCH 1, I earned my BA in Sociology and I was accepted into a variety of sociology graduate programs throughout the country. In August of 1998, I began the graduate program at the University of Oklahoma, in the Department of Sociology. In 2001 I successfully defended my master’s thesis and in 2006 I successfully defended my doctorial dissertation and was awarded a Ph.D. from OU.
Grad school was great except I got FAT! Too much reading, writing, and statistics behind a desk and not enough biking, water polo, and/or golf and I found that it is a lot harder to lose the FAT than it was to put on now that I am OLD. Thankfully since I left Grad School I have been slowly winning the FAT battle.
I currently live in Springfield, Illinois and I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Criminology Department within the University of Illinois system. I equally love teaching and research and most of my work has involved working on grant and research projects with the various agencies associated with the Department of Justice.
I met my "much younger, smoking-hot, and ridiculously intelligent wife" Bridget in graduate school. Meeting and marrying Bridget is the best thing that ever happened to me and we would spend 24/7 with each other if we could. Unfortunately, we have not found jobs that afford us that luxury. Bridget is a child therapist who specializes in working with children who have been diagnosed with autism and various autism spectrum disorders. Bridget is currently the Children’s Services Director for United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln (UCPLL). We do not have nor plan on having children but we do have a wonderful dog named Freckles. Freckles was a shelter dog in Norman, OK who was less than 24 hours from death-row. Currently, Freckles does not have a job but if anyone knows of a job for a dog whose best skills are sleeping and being cute, please let us know because we could use the money.
When not working we travel, it is our addiction, thus we are not stoked with the current state of the airline industry. (SEE ABOVE: FRECKLES NEEDS A JOB) When not working and in town, I enjoy riding my bicycle, I ride to work almost every day come rain, snow, or shine. I have participated in numerous 100 mile charity events and am currently preparing for one in Ohio this September.
We will not be able to make it back to the reunion because it falls the weekend before the start of the fall semester. If anyone would like to say hello please do not hesitate to send an email, I would enjoy hearing from you. For those traveling to the reunion I hope everyone has a safe trip back to Ardmore, and I hope all have an enjoyable weekend.
Cheers!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
