William Goswick
Graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1959 where he played trombone in the band. Served as a radar technician in the U.S. Air Force, 1959 to 1965. Also served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a communications NCO. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, was employed as a Tulsa Police Department Officer, and transferred to the Tulsa Fire Department the following year.
Graduated with high honors from Tulsa Junior College (1973), earned a BA in psychology (perfect 4.0 GPA) at the University Center at Tulsa (UCAT), and completed a Master of Science in Executive Leadership (perfect 4.0 GPA) at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ.
Served as a Firefighter, Fire Equipment Operator, Fire Captain, Training Officer, Assistant Fire Marshal, Arson Investigator, Chief of Research and Development, Chief of Training, and Chief of Emergency Medical Services on the Tulsa Fire Dept., and was the first Tulsa Fire Department Officer to graduate from the National Fire Academy's prestigious Executive Fire Officer Program (1993). Holds certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician, Code Enforcement Officer, Law Enforcement Officer, and Aircraft Rescue Firefighter. Retired from the Tulsa Fire Dept. in 1998.
He was employed as a professor and Fire Science Program Director at Tulsa Community College from 1998 to 2013 when he retired. During his tenure as the Program Director, the TCC Fire Science Program was selected by the National Fire Academy as the model fire science program of the United States.
He is a licensed private pilot, a licensed amateur radio operator (call sign, K5WG), and a member of Mensa. He served as a a Reserve Tulsa County Deputy Sheriff (volunteer) from 1993 to 2013, when he retired from that position.
Owner of Trumpetpro, a custom trumpet mouthpiece business, since 2001. Is a freelance musician in the northeast Oklahoma area, and teaches trumpet privately.
