I was a school teacher in the HEB system, and taught reading and spelling . I also managed Bob’s photography studios, but became interested in HERBS and natural health and followed my heart and changed careers. And due to this change, I've had the opportunity to teach and lecture in many countries, and across the US, too. I've had the chance to appear on several talk radio programs and TV programs, such as PM Magazine, (you might remember Leeza Gibbons hosted it for a time), but my biggest thrill was to lecture in the National Research Institute in Athens Greece on Iridology, and natural health. Many wonder what is IRIDOLOGY?
According to WEBSTER'S MEDICAL DICTIONARY it is, "The study of the iris of the eye for indications of bodily health and disease." I am currently attempting to write a book on Chinese herbs, and their uses, so the common folks can understand! In addition, I've had a weekly newspaper column called "ASK THE HERB LADY" in Texas and Kentucky, as well.
After 10 years of vacationing in Hawaii... we decided to move to the Big Island of Hawaii. And because of that I've moved my business to the Internet; and love the freedom this has afforded me.
Bob, always the adventurer, manages our Vacation Rental and we also have continued our tour business. While Bob was teaching at TCJC-NE he became a tour guide and since we'd taken people to Europe, Africa and Asia we decided to learn more about the Big Island and give private tours here...and that keeps us more than active.
I am currently in the “retired mode” but still keep my hand in, when asked or it suits my fancy ! Our professions have given me/us many opportunities, and kept us young at heart.
