My husband, Steve, and I decided to leave our professions and move to Namibia in southern Africa 3 years ago. We are currently missionaries with Africa Inland Mission. We've just returned to the U.S. after two years of work there and will be heading back for another two years the first of April 2011. My husband is a pediatrician and I am a community developer. Specifically, I work with women's groups in helping them to develop microenterprises in sewn products to help them with self-sustainable income. I also do some teaching in CD at a Namibian evangelical seminary.
This is something Steve and I never envisioned ourselves doing. It's been a 20+ year journey to get to this point and we don't have any reqrets. God has pointed us in the right direction and we are serving Him there in Namibia. Life is just too short not to respond to His leading. Listen, and you may hear His call! Check out our website to read about what is happening in Namibia.
We are the parents of four children, now ranging in age from 27-35, three girls and one boy. Two of the girls are married and have wonderful children - 6 grandchildren total! The hardest part of living so far away is not seeing our children and grandchildren. We have just enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with them all!
