Well, after graduation I went to college like we were suppose to. It didn't last long though.
You know the story: met a girl, had a baby, went to work, got married.... I ended up working construction on the ship channel for about 8 1/2 years and then pretty much out of the blue decided to move to Bastrop. It was our way of being closer to the hill country. That was in `96, and I've been here ever since.
As life tends to happen though, things started getting pretty rough a couple years ago (one of the reasons I missed the reunion) and to make a long story short, after 18 1/2 years of marriage, I'm now single.
My son Daniel still lives with me in the house he grew up in and things are going really well. He just turned 20 and is hanging around town working and trying to go back to school. I've also got an "adopted" son that lived with us for about a year. He was one of Daniel's school buddies, and is now in the Marines stationed in California.
I go to Bastrop Christian Church where I have been a youth group leader for the past three years.
I work in Austin at a place called Sematech. It is a semiconductor research facility, and is really interesting work.
I've always loved the outdoors and for a few years did adventure races. If you've never heard of it, you're not alone, not many people have. Think of it as an off-road triathlon.
I am now seeing the most incredible woman I have ever met. She is a professional horse trainer, and I never really realized how much I miss being around and showing animals. I currently have a 3 year old, Paint / Pinto Stud that I will be taking to Fort Worth later this month (June) for the World Paint Show.
I guess that's about all for now. If you're ever up in Austin, drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you and spend a little time catching up.
