After graduation I attended the UW-Madison with the hopes of becoming a Broadcast Journalist. After beginning to coach baseball during the freshman year of college at East and basketball starting a couple of years later, I realized my future was in education.
I graduated with a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and was given my first job at Stoughton High School. There I was fortunate enough to land the boys assistant varsity basketball coaching job and to meet my future wife. We were both hired as math teachers the same summer, although she was hired the day before students were to begin classes. A short while later we began dating. The students were suspicious and we weren't very good liars. So our relationship may have been the worst kept secret in the history of secrets.
Two years later I had an opportunity to interview at East and LaFollette. Our relationship was to the point that we either get married or break up. Either way it wasn't good for us to remain in the same department in the same high school, so I decided to give it a try. The first interview was at LaFollette and they offered me the job. I still interviewed at East, but our former math teacher Mr. Richter suggested I take the job at LaFollette. I ended up coaching the Sophomore Basketball team there with Eric Nelson (class of 1985) as the varsity head coach and one year helping out with the Sophomore Baseball team with Jim Pliner (class of 1985) as the varsity head coach.
In 1996 my wife Jodie and I were married. We were blessed with our first child two years later. We must have enjoyed it because we repeated the process (having a kid) three more times. I'm still teaching at LaFollette and we are living in the village of Cottage Grove. After our third child arrived it was time to give up high school coaching and to begin coaching my children. I never thought I'd end up coaching soccer, but somehow that happened. The two older boys are also into basketball and baseball where I help coach as well. Times are busy but always exciting.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
