Today's Featured Biography     Louise Ziffer Adelman As I think back over the past 50 yrs., several things stand out-my family & my religion. Like most moms of the 80's, I juggled working full-time & being a "soccer mom". I have 2 children & 2 grandchildren. Once my youngest child turned 6, I was chauffeur to dance & gymastic classes, music lessons & a variety of sports in which my children participated:soccer, volleyball, basketball & baseball, to name a few. As they grew older, I was also active in scouting & HS booster clubs. One of the things I am most gtrateful for is that the members of the class of 1961 instilled in me a love of Judaism, which has nurtured & sustained me through all these years. I remain very active in the Amarillo synagogue, having taught religious school for 30 yrs. & having directed the school for at least 15 yrs. I also served in every Temple Board officer position(except treasurer)including 4 yrs. as Temple President. And most importantly, it allowed me the privilege of passing my love of Judaism onto my 2 children(our daughter is the associate Cantor at Washington Hebrew Congregation, & our son is very active in his Temple in Austin, Tx). Currently, I keep myself busy by teaching math at Amarillo College & mentoring science to high school students who need to pass a state-mandated test in order to graduate. When my husband of 43 yrs. & I are not visiting Austin or Washington DC, we can be found camping, hiking & riding steam trains. VIEW ALL BIOGRAPHIES
