On Friday, Nov 14th 2008, Irv Hansen (class of 1956) hosted a luncheon at the Wisconsin Club for Richard Westfahl, (class of 1955) who was visiting Milwaukee
from Houston Texas.
The Wisconsin Club is a beautiful historic building located at 9th & Wisconsin Ave.
On Saturday Sept 13th I toured Washington High School with the Class of 1958, who were having their 50th Reunion that weekend.

The chronology since 1955:
UWM for a few years. Worked in the UWM Theatre Department (Student President my Junior year). 1959: Started working at the old Fred Miller Theatre on Oakland Street as a Stage Manager. Also worked as a Stage Manager for the revues at the old Fazio's on Fifth Supper Club (how come everything is "old" ?? ). 1960: Drafted into the Army and spent two years in Germany where I was supervisor of all SArmy theatre groups in Germany. 1962: Back to Milwaukee where I became the Stage Manager at the "old" Swan Dinner Theatre downtown on 2nd street. 1963: Stage Manager at the Tenthouse Summer Theatre in Highland Park outside of Chicago. It was a 2500 seat music theatre. In 1965, I was off to California (the first time) for a few years. In 1968, I was the General Manager of the Hawaii Civic Light Opera (another music theatre in Honolulu). Do you sense a pattern developing ?? I lived there for a year. That was fun ! After the performance every night, we went swimming at Waikiki ! Then, in 1969, I returned to the scene of the crime: Milwaukee, where I became the General Manager of the "old" Milwaukee Melody Top Theatre out on Good Hope Road. Two years later I became the Producer there and remained until 1979. So, 25 years after graduating from WHS, in 1980, I went back to California (Los Angeles)to see what I could do in the rest of the world. I had only been in Los Angeles a month when I became Associate Producer on a film: The Attic, with Carrie Snodgress and Ray Milland. What an experience that was !! Working in live theatre was certainly less hectic than films ! In 1981 and 1982 I was Associate Producer at the Sacramento Music Theatre. I had worked with the producers there while I was in Milwaukee, so they invited me to come and work with them in Sacramento In 1983, I became the Producer of the Long Beach (CA) Civic Light Opera, a 3,000 seat musical theatre in Long Beach. In 1990 I was hired by the Nederlander Organization (owners of legitimate theatres in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, 1/2 the theatres on Broadway, and several in London) to supervise their theatrical operations in Los Angeles, including the world famous Pantages Theatre at Hollywood and Vine Streets. I'm still there and enjoying every day ! We currently (4/07) have a long running production of "Wicked" in the theatre. Whew !
