Cynthia Arnold Cervas
Hi!
I'm glad I found the website. It has been really fun looking at all these familiar (dare I say old?) names from the past.
I live in Houston with my long-time love, Chuck. We have been happily married since 1978! We have two children. Our son, Adam, was married last summer on the 28th anniversary date of his parents (very special for all of us). He graduated from college with a business/marketing degree and lives in Houston (yes!) with his lovely wife, Mallory, and their 73 lb. American Bulldog puppy(?), Chopper. Our beautiful daughter, Rachel, is a junior at a Christian college and has her minor in theater and will graduate with a major in Fashion Merchandising.
We have lived in Houston most of our married life (briefly in Tennessee). Chuck works for a major oil company, BP and is currently managing a 600 million dollar project. He is a super husband and father and I was really lucky to recognize that fact so early! ha.
I have worked as a secretary in the oil industry, a pre-school teacher, Assistant Director, a stay-at-home mom and currently as Children's Minister (don't laugh) at our church. It is, surprisingly, a demanding job but very fulfilling.
Chuck and I find ourselves busier as "empty nesters" than when we were taking our kids to dance and baseball!
I've been very blessed with my life -- I did have a brief encounter with thyroid cancer in 1990 but am enjoying the prospect of being a grandmother in a few years!
I'm not sure if I will be able to make the reunion but will try. We have actually been back to Alaska twice on vacations and I have shown our kids the log cabin where I grew up and West High School (of course). Alaska was a great place to grow up and I have fond memories of so many of you! Would love to hear more from you all!
