Today's Featured Biography
Estelle Floyd
My last 50 years since graduating from high school has been spent in our hometown. After graduating from high school I was a housewife for many years being involved with my family and church and staying home raising our two sons. I have been involved in church life and traveled many years with the Arkansas Baptist Convention teaching preschool mission education conferences. Also served three consecutive 5-year terms on the Executive Board. In 1993, after supervising the Mothers Day Out at our church for many years and staying home to keep our grandchildren while their mother worked, several of my teacher friends persuaded me to start as a substitute teacher in the El Dorado School district. In 1996, I went full time as a Paraprofessional at Southside Elementary. Then Southside was closed in 2003 where I had spent some of my most memorable years at a place in my life I will never forget. After the closing of Southside, I found myself at Washington Middle School (the old Washington High School building) teaching 6th grade reading for two years - then retired in 2005. The retirement didnt last long for the last three years I have done long-term substituting for El Dorado Schools lasting from 3 weeks up to 4 months. This last year I have spent most of my school teaching days at the school where I started my education, Hugh Goodwin Elementary, and it is been interesting to see how times have changed the school and teaching. Throughout the years my family, husband Irvin, and sons Jean and Clark, have been my main focus. We have enjoyed many vacations and fun times camping, traveling, and now the boys have families of their own. We enjoy living by Jean and visiting Clark and his family in Tennessee. Jean has a son, Asa, and daughter, Leah, and Clark has one daughter, Imani, and three sons Atticus, Eason and Oakly. Ivan retired from Lion Oil in January and now that our time is ours we plan to visit with the grandchildren, camp and make a few trips. In March 2008, Irvin and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary, and now 50 years since we graduated from high school - my how time flies. Irvin died July 9, 2011 and June 22, 2013 I married Tommy Robertson. Tommy is a retired Baptist minister. He pastored Trinity Baptist Church in El Dorado back in 1968 - 1973 then back in El Dorado as the Director of Missions for Liberty Baptist Association from 1980 until his retirement in 1999.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
