Today's Featured Biography
Dayna Johnson Moreland
After graduation I attended Ouachita Baptist University, then fin ished at Jonesboro Business School. Married in 1972, then moved to El Dorado. Worked part time in the family business Moreland Glass & Mirror taking care of the accounting. I was a stay at home mom until my children got to junior high school. While they were in elementary school, I was involved in PTA, homeroom mom, Boys Scouts, Campfire Girls, and other activities that involved our chi ldren. We are members of First Baptist Church. I'm retired from the El Dorado School Administration office where I was the Account Payable/Payroll clerk. On the side, I take care of the accounting at Bravo Dance Centre' which started out as a favor to my daughter's good friend. I've been doing that job for at least 15 years and will continue as long as I can.
We enjoy doing things with our children and grandchildren taking trips, going to car shows (my husband has a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 426 Hemi that he bought brand new in '69 for $4000. He's had offers to buy it for lots of money. He won't sell it.) We go to "Cruisin the Coast" in Gulfport, MS every October. This will be our 13th year to go. We like camping, jeep rides in the woods and hanging out at our pool. We are busy attending dance recitals, dance competit ions, softball and baseball games. I love cooking (trying new recipes) reading, grandchildren, and shopping. I used to do needlework of all kinds, but not able to do that due to arthritis in my hands.
Life can't be better than that. I have been blessed with a good life, good health (most of the time) and many good friends! My family thinks I' ll live a long life because my daddy lived to be 99 years & 6 days.
