Today's Featured Biography
Gary Wilson
My education has been in Theatre History and Literature with a Bachelor of Science in
“Theatre” from Southern Illinois University, a Master of Fine Arts in “Acting” from Southern Illinois
University and then I finished a Doctor of Psychology in Performance Theory from Florida State
University. In 1974 I started teaching acting at Southern Illinois University. I teaching Acting Theatre
History and Literature in at Florida State University, at Tallahassee State College and 1999 and in the
International Baccalaureate Program in Rickard High School, Tallahassee. In 2000 I received a
Professional Educator’s Certificate in Drama (6-12) and Social Science (6-12).
In Illinois I started teaching Acting and Tech Theatre for Community Theater Groups and High Schools students. The workshops were sponsored by the Illinois Arts Counsel. Doing these caused me to find that I like working with young students because of their energy to learn. As I continue to teach the more I seemed to learn. The most fun I had was working with High School Students so I started
work to be certificate in Drama and then in Social Science in order to use my education.
