Today's Featured Biography
Marci Weisblatt
I headed west after WHS to UCLA, and just loved my college years...and Los Angeles. After college, I went to work for a firm that does fundraising events, mainly with the entertainment industry, and managed events like benefit movie premieres and concerts - all very "L.A."...and frankly, after a few years of dealing with those industry egos, I decided to make a switch. It landed me in non-profit, which I love. I spent several years at the American Heart Association. I had always wanted to come back to UCLA, and six years ago, I had the opportunity to return as the Associate Executive Director of the Alumni Association. Just last month, my boss left, and I was named the Interim Executive Director/Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations. (Scary sounding, isn't it?) So needless to say, life's a little crazy right now! On the personal front, I got married a few years out of college, but it didn't work out and we went our separate ways. No kids, but I am a proud Auntie Marci to two adorable nieces (not that I'm biased or anything. :) ) I just bought a house this summer, so settling in to a new home amidst everything else. I've had the opportunity to travel quite a bit...but I'm always itching for the next adventure... (Suggestions, anyone?) My family moved to Northern Cal right after I got to UCLA, so I've only been back to Phoenix a couple of times since graduation. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone!
