Jack Davis

Growing up in Huntinton Beach,I became very involved in aquatics. I board surfed,played water polo and was on the H.B.H.S.swim team. I worked on the Huntington Beach Pier at Carls Bait & Tackle,Jacks Beach concession stand and with the Huntington Beach City weed crew during my high school years. I have been activily surfing until I acquired knee injuries a few years ago. I still have a Greek custom board made for me in 1964. I own two light longboards and one Corky Cool Stick (7'4")tri-fin, which was custom designed through The Beach Comber surf shop on Main Street. I was married to my high school sweetheart,Patricia Ann Brooks in 1968. We had four beautiful children with the last one being delivered by yours truely at home. We were married for 18 1/2 years and since divorced in 1986. I have a new beautiful wife,Judith (my soul mate)being married on July 5, 1997. We live now in San Diego where I can go sport fishing anytime. I and my three sons still love the ocean. I go out on long range fishing trips as often as possible. My wife, Judith likes to fish and we go down to Palmas De Cortez, Baja California as often as possible. Judith and I live within 15 minutes of downtown San Diego. My cousin, Cheryll (Mays) Christie still lives in Huntington Beach. I have worked as a retail manager for the past fourteen years in outdoor sports. Prior to that I was a Supervisor with a Dental manufacture in Anahiem,CA. After graduating from H.B.H.S. I went to Orange Coast College majoring in Building Construction. I was drafted into the Army in 1967 getting out as Sgt. E-5 in 1969 during the Vietnam era. I then went back to work and school. Having a young family and a home in Garden Grove,CA. My continued education landed me a B.A. in Business Admin. with a minor in P.R. I continued to surf and was an active scuba diver. I became a Scuba Intructor,Dive Master and Skin Dive Leader through N.A.U.I. in 1976 activily teaching through Golenwest Junior College in Huntington Beach. I taught diving close to six years at Golenwest then went private after the program funding was eleminated. My children have all graduated from college,two living here in California,one living in Grand Junction,CO. and the oldest son (Kevin)living in Fort Collins,CO. Just my wife and I with our dog Sherlock and our new cat, Martha live in San Diego. We have a great home and love living here in one of mother natures paradise locations. I hope to see some of my classmates again soon.
