Today's Featured Biography
Brian Thomas
I made it to the 20 & 30 year reunion, and am looking forward to the 40th. I hope we have another golf scramble, since that's one of my favorite activities. Golf in the summer, skiing in the winter.
I wish there was a way to make a good living as a skier, but I went with chemical engineering to pay the bills. I've been working at a Wyoming fertilizer plant since 2000, and it was bought by Simplot in 2003. I also run the analytical lab. Before that I worked at different plants making vanadium and magnesium products.
I've been married for 32 years to a gal from Wendell, Idaho that I met at the Univ. of Idaho. Kathleen is a dietitian and owner of the Idaho Plate Method (see website). My oldest son Christopher got his degree in biology, and Craig has BS degrees in geology and archeology. They both live nearby, and seem to make it home for dinner quite frequently.
I screw around with a few hobbies: home coffee roasting, tune my own skis, bowl in a league, and have been known to show up at open mike comedy nights if I get brave enough. I make a ski trip every year with a bunch of old guys - we call it the "Flomax Tour". We've hit Aspen, Telluride, Crested Butte, Big Sky, Jackson Hole, Tahoe, Steamboat, Silverton, Vail, Beaver Creek, Grand Targhee and Tignes, France in the past.
Kathleen and I spend the summers camping in a motorhome, mostly boondocking in the mountains. We hit the Grand Targhee Music Festival every year, and are planning on retiring to the Star Valley, Wyoming area. I think we'll try out being snowbirds in the winter eventually, but I want to live near Jackson Hole so I can ski during the winters as long as my body will let me.
