Today's Featured Biography
Michael Hill
Born in Columbus, OH
Raised in Worthington, OH
Moved to St. Charles, 1957
Lived west of Wasco for freshman year
Moved to 814 S. Seventh St in 1958
Participated in football freshman year, cross country, swimming and track for remainder of high school
Activities included X-Ray, yearbook, Senior class play and some studying
Attended Cornell College
Married in 1965; daughter born same year
Divorced in 1968
Moved to WA. staying with Jim Farrell for a while
Son born in 1970
As a pacifist, refused induction in the army
Became a PEACE activist
Created a hippie commune on a lake called Geneva
After 7 years there converted a 1950 school bus as living quarters
Re-discovered running and participated in numerous 10K races, one marathon
Climbed Mt. Rainier, Mt. St Helens (the year before it blew), and Mt. Adams
Purchased 16 acres of wooded wetlands near Mt. Rainier. Created a home from scratch
Began a series of arrests while committing civil resistance to the war machine
Developed a one man roofing business
Fished commercially in Alaska for several seasons
Got sober in 1987
Returned to St. Charles to help dad care for mom in her last 8 months
Met Barbara there and married in 1995
Created "our" home from "my" home.
Helped dad move to San Diego, CA
Cared for him there in his last 14 months
Helped Barbara care for her mother in Dayton, OH. for some time
Purchased a house in Albuquerque, NM for future retirement
Forever grateful for the high school daze!
