Today's Featured Biography
Sandy Isbell Day
I am actually a 1977 graduate who got out in three years instead of four via junior achievement and summer school. My friend, Liz Vallery (Mulig) and I cooked up this crazy scheme and actually did it!!!!! I met my husband at LSUS and we married in August 1978. He was a Byrd H.S. 1973 graduate and had just gotten out of the Navy. We lived in Shreveport until 1979 when he rejoined the Navy, then it was on to 2 years in Seattle and four years in San Diego. In 1985 we moved back home with two kids, both started back in college while also working, and somehow managed to graduate (Roger in 1990, me in 1992). Now I know why we have a B.S. degree--you have to go through a lot of BS to get it!!!)
Roger works at UPS as a driver,and I've held various accounting positions, but am not working now. My oldest son manages a restaurant, my daughter is at Vet school at LSU-BR, and my youngest son is at LA Tech. One son lives at home due to a disability.
I manage to keep busy with three cats and one dog, church, and two sewing charities, Threads of Love and Red River Quilters.
Most people tell me I haven't changed since high school. I still love reading, sewing, other crafts, and MUST have a clean house. In addition, I enjoy church and Bible studies, and like to surf e-bay and youtube.
Although I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, I keep going as much as I can, because I'm not ready to be OLD yet. Like the old Beach Boys song, "I get around", I can still get, just not as fast!!!!!
Im going to Australia to visit my youngest sister who lives in Melbourne. This will be my second trip there. I'll be back before the reunion, so I'll look forward to seeing everyone then.
