Today's Featured Biography
William Banks
I attended Suitland Highschool as a sophomore from November of 1958 untill March of 1959. We moved to Forrestville, MD from McHenry. IL and then my parents purchased a home in Tracys Landing Maryland where I began attendance at Southern High School in Lothian Maryland ( Anne Arundel County).
I had one date while at Suitland, with an attractive 15 year old girl named Pat Petty and my best friend was named Carol Zowelinski but I think her name had a different spelling. I wrestled for Suitland at 120 pounds and Mr. Turner was the wrestling coach. The assistant wrestling coach accidently broke my collar bone and I was then out for the most of the season although I never lost any of my three matches while at Suitland.
I remember Miss Raspensen as my Spanish teacher and Ms Whittenburg as my biology teacher but have no recollection of any other teachers at Suitland. I was sorry to find out we were moving away.
I ended up attending 3 Highschools within a 5-6 month period of time.
I retired from the Lawrence Livermore National Lab in 1996 and graduated from the Univ. of Maryland, and later went to graduate school at Johns Hopkins Univertsity, and Towson University.
