Today's Featured Biography
Kyle Nickel
I graduated from Univ of Michigan in 1989 and was then commissioned in the Marine Corps. I also got married in 1989 to the former Debbie Casault (a John Glenn grad). 5 months after our wedding, we were living in Okinawa, Japan. My daughter was born while in Japan. Upon return from Okinawa, we lived in Virginia Beach, VA for the next 2 1/2 years where I taught Logistics. While in Virginia Beach, my son was born. We then moved to northern VA for a year, then moved to Jacksonville, NC. While in Jacksonville, I deployed with the Marine Corps for 2, 6 month deployments in the Mediterranean. I spent time in Bosnia, Kosovo, provided humanitarian assistance to Albania refugees and Turkish earthquake victims. My family then was transferred to Albany, NY where we spent the next 3 1/2 years. While in Albany, I got my Masters Degree in Management. We then returned to North Carolina, where I deployed to Iraq for 7 months. After North Carolina, we moved to Marietta, Georgia, where Debbie decided that she was going to stay until I retired from the Marine Corps. I have since moved twice, once to south Georgia, and I'm now back in North Carolina (but Debbie is in Georgia). I get home about every 3-4 months, but Debbie gets to come see me monthly.
I've been to Afghanistan for 18 of the last 36 months. Hopefully I won't be heading back there any time soon.
Both kids are now in college with Megan in her senior year at Kennesaw State University studying English, and Nate at Old Dominion University studying Civil Engineering.
I am currently a Colonel in the Marine Corps and am the G-4 for 2d Marine Division. I am responsible for providing logistics support to the 13,000 Marines within the Division. I also provide oversight on over 200 buildings on Camp Lejeune.
I love traveling, running and going to the gym, and working in our yard/garden. I've ran the Marine Corps Marathon while I was in Afghanistan and have completed several 1/2 marathons and 10k races since I've been back home.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
