Various Bios given with the various sites above. Long and short of it, born in Talladega (never got to the track there, have driven on Darlington--Hah!) Grew up in Jeffersonville IN, Richmond VA, Orangeburg SC, Aiken. Continued growing up (after Aiken) in Atlanta, Camden, San Antonio, Biloxi, Istanbul, Saigon (TET '68), Angelas City, Columbia, (Married Jennie, a Tennessee girl, in 1975,) Columbia (twins,) Sumter (son #2,) Westminster, Pascagoula. Returned to Aiken about 25 years ago. Guess I like it here. Got chemistry degree from Ga Tech, worked for years first as a lab manager then as a water/wastewater treatment system manager. Was an electronics tech (Microwave Radio Maintenance) in the Air Force and SC Air Guard. Retired (SMSgt) there after 26 years. Retired from my various civilian gigs as soon as I could to become a burden on society by ceasing contributions to social security in favor of taking money out of it. Have been happily doing that since 2007. I now "work" as a "reporter" for Examiner.com. After "working" there for 6 months, I calculated my pay rate. It was OK--I've worked for less (in Crosland Park, running a front-yard Kool-aid stand.) Oh, well, guess I like what I'm doing. Hopefully, any of you who still need to work can have as enjoyable a "job" as do I. Hope to be working and enjoying Aiken the next time we get together. Life is good.
