Lisa M. D. Owens is a learning expert and author who applies learning sciences and instructional design methodology to training programs that move businesses forward.
During Lisa’s 30+ year career at Procter & Gamble (P&G), she served as P&G’s leading training professional (1994 – 2011), and dean of P&G’s R&D University (2003-2011). At P&G, she was a sought-after internal consultant for training design. She was well known for her skill as a coach for executive trainers, a skill she developed in response to P&G’s culture of leaders-as-teachers. She created a wide range of training at P&G which used a leaders-as-teachers approach, including General Manager College for two CEOs, and several corporate universities across organizations as diverse as public affairs and research & development.
Lisa was the lead instructional designer for the Boy Scouts of America’s youth leadership training (NYLT, NAYLE and Trainer’s EDGE). She continues her passion for developing youth leadership skills through China Capable Teens.
Lisa founded Training Design Strategies LLC in 2012. Currently, she is an instructor for Ohio University’s instructional design certificate program, on the executive advisory board for the Greater Cincinnati chapter of ASTD, and serves as a judge for learning awards since 2010.
Lisa co-authored the books "Your Career: How to Make it Happen" (2016), "Leaders as Teachers Action Guide" (2014) and "Corporate Learning 2: Avviare Una Corporate University" (2013, Italian). Her publications include two CorpU series on forming corporate universities, and a 2005 article in Leadership Excellence magazine.
Lisa is happily married to Richard Owens since 1978. They live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, and winter in Cape Coral, Florida. They have 2 sons and 2 wonderful grandsons, all living in the DC-Baltimore area.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
