Michael White
Michael H. White, B.A., M.S.
Originally from Kingsport, Tennessee, Michael currently resides in Boulder, Colorado. He was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy in 1986 and completed his flight training in 1988. He then served as a Naval Aviator in both land-based and aircraft carrier-based jet and turboprop aircraft where he flew combat support and tactical missions in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, the NATO campaign in Kosovo, and most recently during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Michael has also served as an Instructor and Company Officer at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he worked with vice-presidential nominee Admiral James Stockdale to develop the Naval Academy Core Values Training Program. Following his tour at USNA, Michael left active duty in 1994 to pursue graduate work and a career in consulting and training.
In 1995, Michael began work at Andersen Consulting as a Senior Change Management consultant in San Francisco, CA. While at Andersen, he worked inside such companies as Kaiser Permanente, Pacific Bell, Chevron, and Pacific Gas & Electric. Michael left his position with Andersen in 1997 to assume the Director of Business Development role at Aircraft Technical Publishers (ATP) – an aviation technology firm in Silicon Valley. While in the bay area, Michael also served as adjunct faculty to the University of San Francisco and is retained by USF as a consultant to the Department of Psychology.
After two years at the helm of business development at ATP, Michael returned to the South as a Performance Improvement Consultant for the Atlanta Gas Light Company in Atlanta, GA. It was there that he began his working relationship with Gary Koyen and Becca O’ Connor of The Meridian Institute.
After being recalled to active duty in 2001 for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, Michael served as an instructor at the Center for Naval Leadership in San Diego, CA where he facilitated Advanced Officer Leadership courses for hundreds of senior Naval, Air Force and Coast Guard Officers. Michael retired from active duty as a Commander, United States Navy in December, 2006.
Michael joined The Meridian Institute full-time in January of 2006 as a trainer and consultant. He is a certified Franklin-Covey “7 Habits” Facilitator, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Design Human Engineering (DHE) Practitioner. He enjoys flying privately, SCUBA diving, sailing, surfing, skiing and drumming.
Michael holds a B.A. in Psychology from The Citadel and an M.S. in Organizational Psychology from Johns Hopkins University.
