Today's Featured Biography
Lew King
Some of you may remember my appointment to West Point U.S. Military Academy at graduation. That was my plan for my life, but God had other plans for me. West Point was a fabulous place, but after 3 months, I had lost the desire to continue so I resigned. When I returned to Houston, I was humbled spiritually and reached the point of totally committing my life to Jesus Christ, just like Billy Graham said to do. Not long after that, I was called to be the Youth Director at Long Point Baptist in Spring Branch, and Linda and I got married three months later. I could see that God was directing my life in a wonderful way. He then gave me the desire to go to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth for more training, where I earned my Master of Church Music degree. I then served churches as Minister of Music (along with Youth and Media at times) in Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and New Mexico. I retired in June 2012 after 44 years in church ministry. We have three grown children: Laurel, Leanne, and Landon and three grandchildren in Germany. I'm a ham radio operator (W5LEW), a published composer, songwriter, arranger, orchestrator. I had an RV Inspection business for a while(like a home inspection for RV's) but have retired from that now to write more music. Linda and I also used to entertain for church and senior adult groups, singing funny songs with guitar and keyboard accompaniment. We live in our RV and have settled in Kerrville, which is where most of Linda's family live.
