Today's Featured Biography
Barbara Carter Lambert
I always wanted to be a flight attendant, I just didn't know it was going to be a life long career! In 1974 after two years at SAC, I left San Antonio and took to the skies on Delta and retired from there after 31 years. Post Delta Days, I promptly began flying for World Airways, a charter airline working primarily for the Department of Defense flying our troops, the best passengers on the planet! I have traveled the world...been to many countries, met many fascinating people, and have loved all of my adventures. After 9 years at World Airways, I retired...(technically they went out of business). I was very busy doing the retirement gig....volunteering for hospitals, church, family....it just wasn’t satisfying my wanderlust...so I went back to where I belong...the skies! I have been a flight attendant at Southwest now for 6 years and it is my “final airline”. I am luving it and having lots of fun. Perhaps I will have some of you on a flight sometime!
In between flights, I managed to marry and stay married to (!) a wonderful man (Alan), and we have been blessed with two grown children (Christie and David), one son-in-law (Bryan) and numerous furry and feathered family members. I have one precious grand daughter, Elliot who is 8 and a grandson, Ethan, who is 3. (The live in a house one street behind us.). Life is good!
When I came to Jefferson, it was the beginning of my junior year...it's a difficult time to start another school, since so many people already have histories with each other...however, I quickly settled in and became a very happy member of the Class of '72. I have many wonderful memories of ya'll, the teachers, events, even the building!
