Today's Featured Biography
Marilyn Van Hoose Pettit
I finished my high school classes at mid-year and started at WSU right away. I graduated in June 1975, after 3 and a half years. Ghery and I got married in July 1973. We will have our 49th anniversary later this month. After graduating, we lived in Napa, CA for 4 years while Ghery worked for the Navy. Our son, Ghery C., was born there. We moved to Littleton, CO, living there for 4 years while he worked for Martin-Marietta Aerospace. Heather was born there. Next, back to Silicon Valley and a computer company for almost 12 years. By this time I was volunteering at the kids' school so much, they offered me a job and I taught part-time in the gifted program. I enjoyed it so much, I returned to school and got a 5th year teaching certificate from San Jose State University. I taught full-time since 1990. I got my Masters of Education in 2000. Intel moved us north in 1995, first for a year in Beaverton, OR, then to where we live now in Olympia.I retired from teaching in 2016. Both kids went to WSU so we made the cross-state trek often. We still do since we have season football tickets. Our daughter got married in 2003 and our son in 2015. As for enjoyment, we have been very lucky in our travel. I've been to 45 states and 40 countries. I enjoy reading in a cool breeze, boating on smooth waters, and enjoying naps when I can. I took up quilting when I retired. We now have 5 grandchildren.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
