Today's Featured Biography
Kimberlee Campbell
Well, I have been busy since our 20 year reunion by having one more baby, our little girl Ava Margeaux, she is 8 and is constant terror to her two older brothers!
Prior to moving to Seattle in 1995, I attended WSU for an undergrad degree and then a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. I then moved to California where I worked at Whittier College and then the University of Southern California. I spent 5 years in LaLa land and had lot's of adventures but missed Washington State. I was lucky enough to experience all the fires, floods, riots and the big Northridge quake while I was there! So, looked for a job closer to home.
I have been happily employed with Seattle Pacific University (SPU), heading up Residence life and Student Conduct since 1995. wow, that is a long time!
We live near SPU on Queen Anne hill in Seattle and I rarely leave the little bubble that encircles my world of work, Mom, wife and all those kid activities that ensue with three under 12. I know, I started a bit later than many of you but wouldn't trade a minute of it.
My hubs, Jim Pappas is a native Seattlite, and is self-employed in the refridgeration business. He is one of those guy's guys who loves his classic cars, boating and doing all the outdoors things many of us in Pullman grew up loving to do-like hunt and fish! I envy those of you who get to live in Pullman as I miss the Palouse and all the great things that come with living in a small town. Now I'm raising City kids but they do get a taste of the country when we come back to visit Grandpa Campbell at the Lake House in C'dA.
I try to spend as much time there in the summer as we can as I love it and so do the kids. I'm fortunate to be able to get lots of time off in the summer...love Higher Ed!
We have had some sad events in the past few years too. Many of you remember my beautiful Step-mom Pat Campbell, she passed away suddenly of a rare form of cancer in 2008. Pullmanites remember that she was the managing broker at Beasley realty for many years and we miss her terribly. The next year, we lost my Mom, Sharon Vogt to a re-currance of breast cancer. I was lucky to have two wonderful Mom's and while it hasn't been fun to go through the dying process with them, we are thankful to have had them in our lives and keep them alive with our memories of them. My kids have also lost their Great-grandparents and Jim's Mom (Grandma Pappas in May). So....all this to say, we are well acquainted with grief and wish it wasn't an inevitable part of the human experience, but it is and we make the best of it.
We are thankful to have "Boppa" Keith Campbell still working at Wazzu and living in Pullman. He toys with the idea of retiring from the College of Pharmacy but after 43 years...he doesn't know what he'd do with himself! He keeps us tied to Pullman at least once a year.
I have really enjoyed the Facebook friends from PHS and try to keep up with the posts. It can be hard to to but how fun is it to see all your family pics and see where life has taken you post 1981!!
I look forward to catching up with more of you face to face this weekend.
Go Greyhounds and happy reunion all - class of 1981!

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
