Personal Narrative:
Married more than once, but now single. My 32-year-old only daughter Sarah recently moved to Broomfield, CO. I've been in northern Idaho for 19 years, now in Troy (pop. 800) near Moscow with Mollie, my black-lab/border-collie mix. Years ago restored and still own (with my daughter and ex-wife, Jamie) the Snowy Range Lodge near Centennial, WY. Continue my avocation of restoring historic buildings: an old movie theater (ca, 1913) and log barn in Troy. I'm an avid white-water rafter and have traversed many of the "white-knuckle" rivers of Idaho. My downhill days are over, as following my last knee surgery the doctor asked me to choose skiing or walking. Usually return to Denver/ Laramie a couple of times each year to visit my daughter and old friends like Jim Thompson and Nancy Stanton (sadly, we lost Nancy 4 yrs ago). Also maintain sporadic contact with Jim and Sally (Neighbor) Jones (they stayed at my house last summer), Steve Roberts, Randy Murphy, etc. Travel frequently to Haines, AK to visit my brother Dan and family. Dan's 6'-10" youngest son starts this year as "post" for the Bradley University (Peoria, IL) basketball team. Have recently reconnected with a female from my distant (45 years ago) past, Judi (Holliday) Doing, and we've been together for about three years. Life takes many strange turns, as Judi was the first girl I danced with and the first girl I ever kissed (other than my mother and grandmother). She says the same, but we all know girls lie about such things! Judi remembers that Dean Sedar and I used to pick her up after school at the side door of Dean Morgan in my red Model A Ford with the black driver's side door (junk-yard replacement for one of my many car accidents). I have loved teaching, but enough is enough, and I'm retiring in May 2013! I thank my lucky stars for having grown up in Wyoming and for the experiences I had in NCHS classrooms, playing football, summer jobs in the oilfields. I feel sorry for the kids in my classes today who have never had the kinds of experiences I had, although at the time I considered some to be less than enjoyable.
