Today's Featured Biography
Antonio Escueta Jr.
I attended Indiana University / Bloomington, IN ( 1984-1988) and received a Bachelor of Music degree
August 11, 1990 I married Jane Frances Schaefer. We were friends in college ( a long time according to her !)
After Jane and I got married we moved around quite a bit.
>1990-1993- York, PA
I worked for Menchey Music here while my wife drove all about the tri-state area playing with various community orchestras ( she's a violinist). Still immersed in synthesizers since high school, I started selling them at Menchey Music and ended up doing many music demos for Yamaha synthesizers.
>1993-1998- San Antonio, TX
Jane got her first full time orchestra job with the San Antonio Symphony. Arriving to Texas jobless, I began looking for playing gigs. After my first 3 months in a Mexican pop band ( that was an interesting experience)
I started taking on piano students amidst jumping into a coutry/rock band that played many of the dance halls in Texas.
Here I also started teaching a continuing music education program affiliated with San Antonio College for tutoring high school students interested in studying music in college. I also was working as a consultant with Yamaha monthly providing synthesizer clinics for music stores across the U.S.
Another consultant and friend of mine in Florida whom I would write and arrange music with moved to Nashville, TN.
During the end of 1997 Jane's orchestra job started to become a little unstable so we decided to move to Nashville, TN.
>1998-2004- Nashville, TN
>2004- present - Dallas, TX
I currently work for Yamaha Corporation of America, managing all field technical support
for Hi-Tech electronic and recording musical instruments ( synthesizers, digital audio recorders etc...) for the U.S. market.
I travel very frequently, the upside to that being it does allow me to take my wife and kids on a pretty cool trip once a year.
In whatever spare time I have left ( with 2 kids!) Our kids ( Maria and Tony) are the primary focus of our lives, amidst two busy work schedules ( much like most people).
After leaving Nashville I haven't done much music performing, aside from church and performing snall chamber music things with my wife.
I still manage to do some recording and music programming ( a handfull of projects a year).
I attended the 20th reunion a few years ago and had a great time, but didn't see as many people as I had expected.
I'm looking forward to the next reunion and would welcome emails and contact from former class mates.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
