Today's Featured Biography
Anthony Pena
My Jobs
A few years after high school and after my A.S. degree in Aeronautics from College of San Mateo, I spent 6 years with a helicopter strapped to back flying Air/Sea Search & Rescue for the U.S. Coast Guard, in San Diego and at SFO. Flying underneath the Golden Gate Bridge in a helicopter provides a very unusual and unique perspective. After 6 years of service I joined Lockheed working on rockets and spacecraft. I later earned both my B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from San Jose State University and my Master of Science degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering (Rocket Science)from Stanford University.
Now my life is always fun and exciting, being a Rocket Scientist. I have now been working for Lockheed Martin for over 25 years, in various Engineering positions and on various different programs: including the Space Shuttle, the Hubble Space Telescope, Military Satellites (Surveillance, Navigation, and Communications), submarine launched ICBMs and missile intercepting Missile Defense programs. I am currently working on the next-generation US Air Force secured and assured military communications satellite/constellation. And I have worked on the next-generation US Navy UHF-satellite communications (cell-phone type of technology) for use by the Navy SEALS, Marine's Expedition Forces, USAF Special Forces.
My wife and kids
I met my wife at the SFO airport (in 1979). I worked for an airline, at the time. She worked for AVIS Rent-A-Car (and still does).
Jennifer (1982) graduated from Cal-State Fullerton with a BS major in criminal justice in May08. And works for a Law Firm. Kimberly (24 years old) graduated from San Jose State University with a BA major in Radio, TV and Film in May08. She has been a SaberKitten (2006 & 2007 Professional Cheerleader) for the Arena Football League San Jose SaberCats. And she has worked for Clear Channel and the TV station NBC11.
My Hobbies
In my free time I enjoy flying as a Private Pilot, driving my 2006 Pontiac Solstice (red convertible two-seat sports car), playing music and Mountain-bike riding. I also enjoy traveling for both business and pleasure.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
