Today's Featured Biography
Peggy Pinkston Allen
At our 50th class reunion Wayne was chosen as an honorary member of our class.
Wayne and Peggy will be married 50 years come August 30, 2008. He sold his engineering and land surveying business to his partner and retired in 2004. In October of 2005, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and they have been battling that problem and its spread since then. He stays busy with his art classes. Peggy is still very much involved in cooking and geneaology.
They have 3 children:
Michael (49) is divorced, and lives in Pasadena, CA. He is a construction dispute resolution consultant. He assists his building owner and contractor clients in resolving disputes that erupt when construction projects are seriously delayed or experience significant cost overruns. If the disputes are not resolved, he works with his client's attorneys through the subsequent trial or arbitration providing expert testimony on behalf of his clients when needed. At present he is working with the Los Angeles School District. He has one child, Daniel (28), who lives and works in the Atlanta area, and is a perpetual student.
He and Kristin Loni Doud married in Marietta, GA on March 28, 2009.
Mitch (47) lives in Fairlawn, OH. He is the owner and president of a 200,000 circulation Northeast Ohio magazine called Mimi Vanderhaven's Fabulous Buys and its associate website, MimiVanderhaven.com. The two companies are dedicated to preserving retail diversity by helping locally owned businesses compete more effectively against national chains and big box stores. His wife, Suzanne (46) has her doctorate, and is vice president of Development for Akron Community Foundation. She helps people in the Akron area achieve their philanthropic goals through endowments to the foundation and through the establishment of new funds. Their daughter, Morgan (24) is a graduate of Ohio University (was student body president), and is currently a consultant with Monitor, a worldwide consulting group helping corporations, governments and social sector organizations grow strategically. She lives in Cambridge, and is engaged to Matt Lasher, who is attending graduate school at Harvard. They will marry in July 2009. Their other daughter, Kathryn (22) is a senior at Ohio University, majoring in Organizational Communications and Public Relations with a minor in Journalism. She spent the summer of 2008 interning at Warner Bros. Studios.
Amy (44) is a music teacher at a local elementary school. She retired in 2006 after 23 years as a flutist/piccoloist with the Columbus Symphony. Her husband Tim Zabel (54) is a band director at a local high school. Their only child, Zachary (16) is a junior at the same high school where his father teaches. He spent 6 weeks this summer in Valdosta at the Governors Honors program. He plays French horn.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
