Glenda Grant Gordon

Glenda Grant Gordon- Dothan, AL

I was blessed to have grown up in Waycross attending school there and making good friends that grow dearer each year.

After graduation I married on August 31, 1960. Moving to Melbourne, Florida I worked for the Sentinel-Star Newspaper. On February 13, 1966 my son, Glenn was born at the Brevard Hospital in Melbourne. In 1969 we moved to Jacksonville, Florida and I transferred to the Sentinel-Star Express (having worked a total of 10 years combined service with the newspaper and the express company) leaving to give birth to my daughter, Gina, August 17, 1974. We moved to Dothan, Alabama on my birthday, January 8, in 1978 where I still live. In Dothan I worked for 23 years being hired by City National Bank which was bought by AmSouth Bank; I retired in January 2005.

I became a member of the Taylor Senior Citizens Center in 2006; when the director remarried and retired I was asked and accepted her position. I met my husband, David, at our church in 2006. We married March 25, 2007. He is a wonderful Christian, I feel God has blessed me by bringing us together. I left the Senior Center in January 2009 to be home with David.

David is a retired Insurance Claims Adjustor having worked for Auto Owners Insurance Company for 33 years. We enjoy fishing, traveling and serving the Lord however we can (not necessarily in that order.) We also enjoy being with our children whenever we can; David has three daughters and a son adding my two we have six! Our grandchildren number twelve; four girls and eight boys; we have five great-grandchildren, one girl and four boys.
