Jim Hackett

After High School I went on to Junior College and earned my A.A. and then did some work at U of I, DeVry, and UW-Parkside. I started gainful employment while in High School at the Deli and Drug stores in town and then worked for Allied Radio on 95th. street and their spin-off, Playback from 1963-1976 in six positions. Then I was with
American (National) Can Company (15 years)1976-1991 in five positions. I got laid off there (one of three layoffs) and went to
Gander Mountain from 1992-1997. Laid off again, I went to SportMart for a short stint until they too were bought out (1997-1998). I finally landed at Cole-Parmer in Vernon Hills, Il in 1998 to 2008 when I was laid off again, for the last time. From 1987 until my retirement, I have been in charge of the "Midrange" (small "main frames" computers at those businesses.
Married in 1970 for 38-1/2 years to Charlotte R. Carlson who passed away 5/31/09. We moved to Kenosha, WI in 1972 and still here.
We have three boys: Sean, Brian and Michael and two grandchildren, Kyle and Mikayla.
I enjoy travel, photography, and music.
