Donna O'Brien Sutton
My oldest daughter Melissa was married to a wonderful man, Charlie Bradley, on 070707!
Melissa is 35. (Leon Thompson's daughter)and my son, Kyle,is 28, and my youngest (step-daughter), Kristina is 27.
I have three grandchildren, Paul (15), Kailey (14) and Jackson (3-1/2). They are all Melissa and Charlie's.
Last time I updated this I was living in Northern California and couldn't make the reunion. The Grandkids were 7 and 6 and Jackson wasn't even born.
My Mom was fighting Small-cell lung cancer, and lost her battle to it in March of 2008. Oh how I miss her. Time flies...
I've since moved to Tucson, AZ and have lived here for 5+ years now. My daughter and her family moved to Georgia, my son still lives in Illinois, with plans to potentially move to Portland with his girlfriend once his company opens a plant there. Kristina got her Master's in D.C. and now lives in Las Cruces, NM while her boyfriend finishes his master's. I think they will end up in Tampa, FL near her uncle's and her Mom.
I bought my first house on my own in Dec 2014 and it is awesome. It was remarkable moreso due to issues from my marriage that I dissolved in 2011. I am so proud and I love love love my house.
I have 2 dogs (kids), who are attached at the hip. Darby is a blue heeler/husky who is 5 now and she really got me through some tough times when I got her. She's my baby. Henry is, well, we don't really know what Henry is. The Humane Society said he was a Golden Retriever, but the vet disagrees. He definitely has some Golden Lab in him, and whatever else. He's a very slow learner, but sweet as pie. They are both rescue dogs and make me smile or laugh every day.
Since I do visit Illinois fairly frequently, I have been able to keep in touch with a lot of people. FaceBook has been an amazing way to connect with people as well. I think it's really cool to stay in touch with people you grew up around. Even if you didn't know each other that well, or talk that much - you still had a sense of who people were and somehow, each of us affected one another, impacted one another in some small way. At least I think so. Cheers!
