..My life journey after graduation began in 1964 when I married the love of my life. George is retired from the Navy and his career enabled us to live in different parts of the country and experience many different cultures. We were blessed with two children. Carla, age 45, was our first born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She remains single and currently lives in Patchogue, New York. She provides us with endless hours of sharing her life experiences. Then came Spencer, age 42, who was born in Pensacola, Florida. He is married to Marcy. We have three priceless and precious gifts from them, our grandchildren, Shea, Connor and Jack. Spencer is an Electrical Engineer and he and his family reside in Lafayette. Before and after our children came along my work career started out to be secretarial. Despite being an excutive secretary for the president of a shoe manufacturing company, I became bored and wanted to work in something that would present a greater challenge. That's when I decided to enter the healthcare field. I started out as an Emergency Medical Technician and worked as a Medic for an ambulance company in Santa Rosa County, Florida. After we retired from the Navy we settled down in Lafayette and I went to work at Lafayette General Hospital. I had worked there for 10 years when I decided to expand my career. I attended college and became a Registered Nurse. I worked just about every hospital department until one day I decided to try Psychiatry. I eventually became a Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse. Nursing was and still is everything I had ever hoped it would be. I am now retired from the healthcare field with 37+ gratifying years of service. George and I are now enjoying the fruits of our labor. We often reflect back on treasured memories and most of all we enjoy making more memories especially with our children and grandchildren. I still have a passion for cooking, reading, traveling, family and friends, hosting our Cadilac Club gatherings once a week and last but not least spoiling Say 2, our little Jack Russell terrier. To say that my journey was and still is exciting and rewarding is really an understatement. We are grateful...
